The school is run by renowned Chef Lynda Booth

Lynda has a rich and varied background, having spent a decade travelling and cooking around the world, from simple bistros to Michelin two-star restaurants. Having opened the cookery school in 2007, Lynda self-published her own cookbook, ‘From Lynda’s Table’ in 2013 (which was shortlisted for ‘2014 Irish Cookbook of the Year’ and reached the finals of the 2014 World Gourmand Cookbook Awards). She is also a regular guest on Irish TV and radio shows, appearing on the likes of RTE Today and the Marian Finucane Show.

Live in a thriving city

Students coming to the school get to live in cosmopolitan Dublin for three months and have plenty of free time to experience everything that the capital has to offer; from Ireland’s hottest food scene to Dublin’s picturesque coastal towns. We offer a free accommodation service to all of our Certificate students to help them find suitable accommodation.

State-of-the-art facilities

The school is based in a modern 3,000 sq. ft. open plan space, incorporating a cookery shop, demonstration area, kitchen and dining room and which converts into a fully functioning restaurant for our regular Pop-up nights.

High teacher-to-student ratio

We take a maximum of 24 students on all of our courses and operate a teacher-to-student ratio of one tutor to every six students, allowing us to spend time on developing every student’s skills and techniques.

We expose our Certificate students to the country’s most talented chefs. Recent guest chefs have included Enda McEvoy (Loam – voted ‘Best Chef in Ireland 2016’), John Wyer (Forest Avenue – voted ‘Best Chef in Dublin 2016’), Aoife Noonan (Michelin two star pastry chef) and Darren Hogarty (Head Pastry chef at Michelin starred Chapter One).

Pop-up restaurant nights

One of the main benchmarks for assessing a student’s progress are our regular Pop-up restaurant nights – giving them the experience of what it’s like to run a restaurant and cook a five-course meal for up to 70 paying diners.

Restaurant placements at top Dublin restaurants

We are the only cookery school in Ireland to organise ‘stage’ placements for our Three Month Certificate students as part of their course. Previous placements have included Chapter One, The Greenhouse, Dax, Delahunt, Forest Avenue, and Bastible to name but a few.

Extraordinary career opportunities

Lynda is well connected and has a wealth of contacts in the food industry so is well placed to help students on their way to a successful career on completion of the course. Our Three Month Certificate is highly regarded by chefs and business owners and prepares our students for a range of different careers in the food industry. Past Certificate students have gone on to open their own businesses, worked in top restaurant kitchens at home and abroad (L’Ecrivain, Forest Avenue, Bastible, The Pig’s Ear and Ottolenghi) and others have secured lucrative jobs working as chefs on private yachts.
