Book a Course

Terms and Conditions

As from July 2017 we have had to increase the cost of our courses due to new legislation that require us to pay 23% VAT on all our short courses (day, evening and one week). We have tried to keep this price increase to a minimum but any additional increase must be paid by the customer, most notably against any gift vouchers that are redeemed that may reflect old prices.

BOOKINGS

  1. For the Three Month Certificate course, a deposit of 10% of the full fee is payable at time of booking.  The balance is due 6 weeks prior to the start of the course.
  2. For the One Month Certificate course, a deposit of €750 is payable at time of booking. The balance is due 6 weeks prior to the start of the course.
  3. One Month & Three Month Certificate course students who have been absent for more than 5 days may be excluded from examinations.
  4. For all other courses the full fee must be paid at the time of booking or the school can not guarantee/confirm your booking. Should the course of your choice be fully booked, please place yourselves on a waiting list and we will contact you if a cancellation occurs.

PAYMENT

  1. All cheque payments to be made out to Dublin Cookery School. Card payments can be made by DEBIT CARD, VISA OR MASTERCARD (we do not accept AMEX) through our online booking system or by authorisation (verbal or written) through the office. Gift Vouchers cannot be redeemed directly online.  If you wish to redeem a voucher, email or call us with your voucher number and course choice and we will forward you on a booking confirmation.
  2. Gift vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash and are non-refundable.
  3. If any item purchased with a gift voucher is used for an item of a lower price, the credit remaining will remain on the gift voucher. No cash refund will be given.

CANCELLATION POLICY FOR SHORT COURSES

  1. The course fee for Evening, One Day and One Week courses will be refunded (less a €25 administration fee) if written cancellation is received no less than 28 days before the start of a course.
  2. No refunds will be made for places cancelled within 28 days of the start of a course and payments will not be transferred to other courses. We will relist your place for resale to other customers. If we are unable to sell your place in the time remaining, you will forfeit any course fees associated with your booking. You can transfer/sell your place to another person (16 years or older).
  3. If a person that is booked on a course fails to attend for any reason, they are not entitled to a refund or a rebooking/deferral to another course. If you are unable to attend you can transfer the place to another person (16 years or older).
  4. No refunds will be made for gift vouchers bought.
  5. No refunds/transfers will be made if you fail to attend all or any part of a course.
  6. We will not reimburse you for any travel or accommodation costs relating to a cancelled or rescheduled cookery course.

CANCELLATION POLICY FOR CERTIFICATE COURSES

If a student wishes to cancel a place on the Three Month or One Month Certificate course, the school will make a full refund less 20% of the total course fee to cover administration costs, provided that cancellation in writing reaches Dublin Cookery School not less than 8 weeks prior to the start of the course. Should you wish to transfer to a course date in the future rather than cancel your booking outright, we will transfer your course deposit to that future date.

For cancellations within 8 weeks of the course start, the student remains liable for the deposit paid/full course fees. If the student leaves prior to completion of the course, no refund shall be given.

Withdrawal from any course due to illness, travel problems or any other reason, does not lead to any form of refund. Personal or travel insurance is recommended to cover you not being able to attend or complete a course (some payment card companies automatically provide you with travel insurance cover. Please check with your relevant insurance services provider(s) before placing an order with us). Places can be transferred to another person.

CANCELLATION POLICY FOR CORPORATE EVENTS

28 days cancellation notice must be given in order for a full refund to be given minus an admin fee of 10%. Cancellations made within 28 days will not be eligible for a refund. Event may be transferred to another date provided 14 days’ notice is given.

GIFT VOUCHERS

  1. Gift Vouchers cannot be redeemed directly online.  If you wish to redeem a voucher, email or call us with your voucher number and course choice and we will forward you on a booking confirmation.
  2. Gift vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash and are non-refundable.
  3. If any item purchased with a gift voucher is used for an item of a lower price, the credit will remain on the gift voucher. No cash refund will be given.

YOUR CONDUCT

If a student is considered by Dublin Cookery School to be unsuitable for any reason, the student may be required to leave, either immediately or within a specified time. If the School considers that you have behaved in an unacceptable manner, the School will be entitled to exclude you from any course you are currently enrolled on or booked in the future. No refunds will be made in this instance for the course you are currently booked on to and no refunds will be made for any future courses you are booked on to unless we can resell those course places to another purchaser.
